🌿 How to recognize nutrient deficiencies in hydroponics (and what to do about it)

Quick diagnosis by leaves, growth and roots

One of the advantages of hydroponics is that plants respond quickly .
If they are missing something, you will know within a few days.
When they have enough of everything, they literally grow before our eyes.

In this article, we'll show you how to read plant signals , what each symptom means, and how to easily fix them.

👀 Why does a problem manifest itself so quickly in hydroponics?

Plants have a "stock" in the soil.
Not in hydroponics — it all depends on the actual solution.

This is both an advantage and a disadvantage:

the error will be apparent quickly

but it can be fixed just as quickly

You just need to know what to look for.

🍃 1️⃣ Yellowing of lower leaves – nitrogen (N) deficiency

What it looks like:

older leaves turn yellow

growth is slowing down

the leaves are smaller

Solution:

check nutrient dosage

during the growth phase increase Hydro Growth

change the water and mix a fresh solution

🌸 2️⃣ Weak flowering or few fruits – phosphorus (P) deficiency

Symptoms:

few flowers

slow fetal development

darker, sometimes purple leaves

Solution:

switch to flower fertilizer (Hydro Bloom)

check the light and temperature

🍅 3️⃣ Leaf curling, weak stems – potassium (K) deficiency

Symptoms:

the edges of the leaves turn brown

the leaves are curling

the fruits are small

Solution:

adjust nutrient concentration

check pH (too high pH blocks K)

🥬 4️⃣ Spots on leaves – magnesium (Mg) deficiency

How do you know:

yellow spots between the veins

leaves look "marbled"

Solution:

add magnesium (often included in nutrients)

check EC – overfertilization can block Mg

🌱 5️⃣ Weak roots, slow start – stress or poor root zone

Symptoms:

short, dark, or slimy roots

slow growth from the start

Solution:

change the water

add Root Complex

use PowerZyme to cleanse the root zone

⚠️ Attention: it may not always be a shortage

Sometimes a plant doesn't lack nutrients , but it can't absorb them.

Common causes:

poor pH

overfertilization

old water

low oxygen at the roots

Therefore, it is always best to:
👉 change the water and start with a clean solution

🧠 Simple procedure when something doesn't work

1️⃣ Change the water
2️⃣ Mix new solution according to instructions
3️⃣ Check the light
4️⃣ Watch the plant for 3–5 days

In most cases, the plant will begin to visibly improve.

📝 Summary

Hydroponics is about balance.
Plants will always tell you — just look.

yellow leaves → nitrogen

weak flowers → phosphorus

stains → microelements

bad roots → water and enzymes

If you respond in a timely manner, most problems will be resolved within a few days.
